Mumbai, Feb 28: Padma Shri awardee Ektaa Kapoor’s production house, Balaji Telefilms Limited, has issued a clarification warning the public about fraudulent casting calls being circulated in its name.
In a note shared on Instagram on Friday, the company stated that unauthorized individuals and fake social media accounts are misusing their corporate identity to offer false casting opportunities for upcoming TV serials, web series, and films.

“Balaji Telefilms never solicits registration fees, audition charges, or monetary deposits, nor do we issue formal agreements without prior in-person meetings at our official premises,” the statement read. The company strongly condemned attempts to exploit aspiring actors and directors through such deceptive practices.
Balaji Telefilms reiterated that all legitimate recruitment and casting are conducted exclusively via verified channels and official casting directors. Candidates are advised to verify all information through the company’s official website and social media handles, and to refrain from sharing personal details or payments with unverified sources. Legal action may be taken against those misusing the brand.
The production house emphasized that similar scams have been increasingly reported across the Indian television and film industry.
