Kaup: Shirva police arrest two with MDMA near Chandranagar Janata Colony

Kaup, Mar 8:
Acting on credible information, the Shirva police arrested two individuals and seized MDMA drugs during a raid conducted on March 6 near Chandranagar Janata Colony in Padur, Kaup.

According to police sources, at around 8:10 pm on March 6, the Shirva police station received a tip-off that certain individuals were in possession of narcotic substances and were arriving at the colony. Based on the information, the police sub-inspector (PSI) along with station staff rushed to the location.

During the operation, the police inspected a car parked along the Kaup–Shirva public road. Two persons found inside the vehicle were taken into custody.

 

The accused have been identified as Zaheer Ahmed (66) and Syed Shameem (28), both residents of Belapu in Kaup taluk.

During the search, the police recovered 2.83 grams of MDMA. A mobile phone and the car used by the accused were also seized as part of the investigation.

The operation was carried out under the direction of Udupi district superintendent of police (SP) Hariram Shankar and additional SP Sudhakar S Nayak. Guidance was provided by Karkala deputy superintendent of police Vijay Prasad and Kaup circle inspector Amath Ali.

The raid was led by Shirva police station PSI Manjunath Marabada, PSI Lohith Kumar C S, and station staff, along with crime investigation officers from Udupi.
