Sullia, Mar 12: A lecturer at the Government First Grade College, Sullia, passed away after collapsing on Thursday, March 12.

The deceased has been identified as Manju P (42), a resident of Berya in K R Nagar taluk, Mysuru district. He was serving as a Kannada lecturer at the government college.

Manju had attended college on Thursday and conducted classes until the afternoon. When he complained of feeling unwell, a student reportedly accompanied him back to his room, where he stated he would take some rest. Later, he visited a medical store at Srirampete in Sullia to purchase medicine. While at the pharmacy, he suddenly collapsed.

Local residents rushed him to a nearby hospital, but he was declared dead upon arrival. It is suspected that a sudden drop in blood pressure or a cardiac arrest led to his demise.

Manju had a dedicated career in education, having served as a teacher at the Government High School in K R Nagar for 10 years. In 2024, he was appointed as a lecturer at the Government First Grade College in Sullia and had been performing his duties there since.

Massive cardiac arrest. Pharmacist are not qualified to perform emergency treatment . Instead of going to the pharmacy, he should have visited a clinic in the vicinity. We can assume or suggest few things but in such conditions time available is very li.ited. RIP
