Mumbai, Mar 25: Actor Amol Parashar is set to take his one-man show Besharam Aadmi global, with its international debut scheduled in London on April 11.
After touring across India for nearly a year, Parashar said he is excited to present the show to a new audience. Speaking about the format, he noted that it is not conventional stand-up comedy but a unique storytelling performance exploring themes of masculinity and gender roles.
Directed by Vijay Ashok Sharma, the show revolves around a couple navigating everyday life, including household responsibilities and the absence of domestic help—an aspect Parashar believes will strongly resonate with audiences abroad.

“When we performed in India, people often asked why the couple didn’t have domestic help. But for many living outside India, that’s the reality. People abroad will relate to this situation more,” he said.
Through humour and introspection, the performance also highlights cultural contrasts between younger generations and their parents. One such moment in the show reflects a man’s discomfort in doing simple household tasks in front of his family despite considering himself progressive.
Parashar described the show as “introspective humour” that prompts audiences to reflect on social conditioning and everyday gender dynamics.
Besharam Aadmi will open at The Bhavan on April 11.
