Bengali actor Rahul Banerjee drowns during shoot at Odisha beach

Talsari, Mar 30: Popular Bengali actor Rahul Arunoday Banerjee (43) died in a tragic drowning incident on March 29 while shooting for a television serial at Talsari beach in Odisha.

The mishap occurred during the filming of a scene for the TV serial Bhole Baba Par Karega, in which Banerjee was performing alongside co-actor Sweta Mishra.

According to officials, the duo was allegedly performing a dance sequence in knee-deep water when they suddenly slipped into a ditch. Both were immediately rescued and rushed to a hospital in Digha.

However, Banerjee could not be saved and was declared dead upon arrival, officials confirmed.

A West Bengal Police officer stated that the actor was pronounced dead at the hospital, bringing an abrupt end to his life and career.
