Udupi, Jun 11: Elaborate security arrangements have been made by the Udupi district police in connection with the visit of Tamil Nadu chief minister Joseph Vijay to the Kollur Sri Mookambika Temple on Friday, June 12.
According to a public notice issued by the Udupi district police, extensive police bandobast has been deployed along the chief minister’s travel route and around the temple premises to ensure smooth movement and security during the visit.

Police officials stated that the entire security operation is being coordinated by the Udupi district police. In addition, around 40 personnel from the Tamil Nadu police, including senior officers such as a DIG and an SP, will be part of the close protection team and security planning for the chief minister’s visit.
As the Tamil Nadu chief minister is a Z+ category protectee, all prescribed security measures, including convoy security protocols, will be implemented. Necessary rehearsals and precautionary measures have already been completed ahead of the visit.
Authorities clarified that the chief minister has no scheduled public meetings, interactions, or other programmes during his visit. He will visit the temple and return after offering prayers.
The police have requested the public not to gather along the convoy route, near entry gates, or within the temple premises during the VVIP movement. Devotees have been advised to avoid visiting the temple between 12 noon and 5 pm as security arrangements may cause delays and inconvenience.
However, officials emphasized that there will be no restriction on devotees entering the temple at any time. The advisory has been issued only to help devotees avoid inconvenience during the chief minister’s visit.
The public has been urged to cooperate fully with police personnel on duty and follow their instructions to ensure a smooth and secure visit.
