Google threatens to sue Youtube-MP3.org

New York, June 20 (BNS) Popular search engine Google has threatened to sue Youtube to MP3 conversion web site Youtube-MP3.org, reported Torrentfreak.

It has also blocked its servers from accessing YouTube.

Torrentfreak reported Google lawyers have threatened the website for its MP3 extraction procedures that convert YouTube videos into downloadable audio files.

Google sent a letter to Youtube-MP3 owner Philip on June 8 and asked it to stop services at the latest or face legal action.

Philip was quick to react on the move.

"We would estimate that there are roughly 200 million people across the world that make use of services like ours and Google doesn't just ignore all those people, they are about to criminalize them," Philip said in a statement on Youtube-MP3.org.

"With the way they are interpreting and creating their ToS (Terms of Service) every one of those 200 million users is threatened to be sued by Google," the statement said.

According to Google, the website is pulling in 1.3 million visitors every day.
