Newly Constructed ABVP Office Inaugurated

Mangalore: The new office of Akhila Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishat (ABVP) ‘Viveka’ was inaugurated on Wednesday May 3 here by Akhila Bharatiya Sahabaudhik chief Dattatreya Hosabele.

Speaking on the occasion, Hosabele said that to take India to the lists of developed countries by 2020 it was important to discuss the development of people who were denied of college education and urged the Human Resource Development to take this matter seriously.

Criticising the NDA government for allowing the installation of universities in various pockets of the country, he said that this was one of the worst situations the education system in the country has ever faced.

Among those present were Vidyarthi Shikshana Seva Trust chairman Shankara Rao and Vivekananda Educational Institutions chairman K Rama Bhat.

Applications Invited for Dress Designing Training

Mangalore: A free dress designing and manufacturing training for women belonging to scheduled castes will be conducted under the special scheme sponsored by State Women Development Board. The training will begin in June.

The training will be held under the auspices of Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Classes Research and Development Trust here. Applications are invited from women belonging to scheduled castes, in the age group of 18-45 years. Widows, unemployed, disabled and divorced women will be given preference.

Candidates should give all personal details and a photograph while applying. Caste certificate, income certificate, age proof (either SSLC marks card, ration card or election id) and a Rs 20 stamp paper must be enclosed with the application.

Auditorium of Kote Subrahmanya Temple Inaugurated

Sullia: The newly constructed Vasuki auditorium of Kote Subrahmanya Temple was inaugurated on Thursday May 4 here. The auditorium was constructed as a part of the renovation of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and to mark the brahmakalashotsava celebrations.

Speaking on the occasion, Hosanagar Ramachandrapur math seer Raghaveshwara Bharati Swami said that it was more important to develop an existing temple than to construct 100 new ones. The society is a dedication to the lord and every service rendered at a temple gets offered to the society. So, one should work hard to provide all amenities to the devotees who visit the temple.

The administrative officer of the Hosanagar Ramachandrapur math and retired officer T Madiyal announced that the math would donate a sum of Rs 30,000 to the auditorium.
