Mangalore, Jan 3: ‘Foresee’, centre for creative knowledge and learning launched their first English monthly magazine ‘YOU’ (Youth’s Own Universe) on Friday January 3 at the press club.
It is a tailor-made magazine for youngsters who have high aims and goals for a better future. The magazine serves as a guide for all the budding youngsters to turn their dreams into actions. 'YOU' has the tagline, “A youthful guide for a fruitful tomorrow.”
The owner and editor of the magazine, Winston Anil Lobo, said ," The magazine is named YOU with a purpose because it covers all aspects of a teenager’s life. This magazine does not aim to change the passion of youngsters, but serves as an inspiration and a pathway so as to enable them to realize their passion."
During the press conference, Lanwin Lobo, lecturer, AIMIT, St Aloysius College, Mangalore, released the very first copy of the magazine.
He said, "Today's youth have lost interest in reading and to bring them back to the fold of reading is a real challenge. Since the team behind 'YOU' is young and energetic and filled with crisp and creative thoughts, it would be easy to connect to the youngsters."
This is a privately circulated youth magazine in and around the city. It is not only for college students and graduates, but also for parents, teachers, and mentors, as they can stay abreast with what’s going on in a youngster's life and the problems he or she faces on a daily basis. This magazine contains articles and poems written by budding writers and covers every aspect of a youngster’s life.
'YOU' is owned and published by Winston Anil Lobo, proprietor of Foresee Centre for Creative Knowledge and Learning, Ladyhill, Mangalore. Foresee is a coaching institute for students from high school to commerce degree and caters to the needs of only those who are considered low level performers in schools. Foresee also has its communication skills wing, which trains youngsters in public speaking, personality development and debating skills, dress and dining etiquette, and thus prepares the students for a better and a brighter tomorrow.
Darel Jeevan D'Souza, final year law student, SDM Law College, and Sandrica D'Souza, communication skill student at Foresee were also present.
