Tendulkar visits MCG


Melbourne, Feb 22 (IANS): Batting legend Sachin Tendulkar visited the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) during the India vs South Africa World Cup Pool B match here Sunday.

He was seen sitting and having a discussion with International Cricket Council (ICC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dave Richardson.

The 41-year-old has been roped in as the ambassador of the World Cup by the ICC.

The crowd at the 90,000-capacity stadium erupted in loud cheers after they got a glimpse of the former right-handed batsman on the big screens at the ground. Tendulkar, in response, waved to the jubilant audience.

Tendulkar was a part of India's 2011 World Cup-winning squad.
