East Bengal launches Android mobile app for fans


Kolkata, March 20 (IANS): In an attempt to connect to its young tech-savvy fans, city football giants East Bengal have now stepped into the digital playground by launching an official app available for Android mobile phone users on the Play Store.

Keeping up with the internet savvy generation, the club's main sponsor Kingfisher has taken a pioneering step in technological innovation by creating an exclusive app for Kolkata's much loved football club which is now in its 95th year.

"Designed to excite and engage, the app allows fans to follow their favourite team's every move through up-to-date articles on the team's happenings.

"Providing in depth coverage of each game, fixtures, results list and an impressive gallery of the team in action, the app is a dream come true for an ardent Kingfisher East Bengal fan," said an official release.

Users of the app can also keep themselves updated with a live table of the I-league and thus follow the progress of the aRed and Gold' brigade. There is a comprehensive player by player analysis of the entire squad as well.

Currently the app is available for Android users and will be available for other platforms in future.
