Golfers Randhawa, Atwal to play at Mauritius Open


Mauritius, April 16 (IANS): Indian golfers Jyoti Randhawa and Arjun Atwal will lead the charge at the inaugural Mauritius Open which tees off at the Heritage Golf Club here on May 7. to 10.

Big-hitting Thai star Kiradech Aphibarnrat will also take part in the four-day tournament along with four other former Asian Tour Order of Merit champions.

Tri-sanctioned by the Sunshine Tour, European Tour and Asian Tour, the one million euro tournament will see a gathering of luminaries from the three major tours.

Countryman Thaworn Wiratchant, a two-time Asian Tour No.1, China’s Liang Wen-chong, 2007 Order of Merit champion, and Indian duo of Randhawa and Atwal will also be in the elite field. Randhawa was Asian Tour No.1 in 2002, and Atwal in 2003.
