London, April 16 (IANS): Premier League club Chelsea have agreed to a $6.7 million fee to sign Brazilian football star Nathan.
The 19-year-old underwent a medical at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday and is expected to be confirmed as a Chelsea player this week. Chelsea are understood to have beaten off interest from Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool to sign the playmaker, reports Xinhua.
Nathan attracted the attention of European clubs after scoring five goals at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup in 2013. He has since impressed wearing the No.10 shirt for the Selecao's U-20 team and Brazilian top-flight club Atletico Paranaense.
Nathan would be the fifth Brazilian in Jose Mourinho's squad joining Oscar, Filipe Luis, Ramires and Willian.
