Valencia footballers show solidarity towards Nepal quake victims

Valencia, May 18 (IANS): Spanish first division football club Valencia extended solidarity towards the Nepal earthquake victims by wearing jerseys with the names of the players written in Nepali in a La Liga match.

The club launched a joint initiative with Red Cross on Sunday when the players wore the jerseys with their names written in Nepali in a match against Celta Vigo. The match ended in a 1-1 draw.

The jerseys would be auctioned to help raise funds and help support the victims in Nepal who were devastated after a series of earthquakes over the past month.
