Rascal Flatts, Usher to perform US national anthem at NBA finals


New York, June 9 (IANS): American country group Rascal Flatts and eight-time Grammy Award-winning artist Usher will perform the US national anthem prior to the NBA final games.

Rascal Flatts members Gary LeVox and Jay DeMarcus will return to their home state of Ohio for Game 3 of the finals and perform with third member Joe Don Rooney at centre court. The group, whose ninth studio album Rewind debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Country Albums chart, has sold 22.8 million albums and over 29 million digital downloads, said a statement from the basketball league.

Usher, who became a part owner of the Cavaliers in 2005, will perform at Game 4 of the finals.

Usher, 36, has sold over 65 million albums worldwide and has been ranked by the Recording Industry Association of America as one of the best selling artists in American music history.

Both performances will air live on ABC from Quicken Loans Arena in Ohio on Tuesday and Thursday.
