India U-23 frisbee team win Bangalore Ultimate Open


Bangalore, June 29 (IANS): Indian Under-23 frisbee team lifted the Bangalore Ultimate Open 2015 trophy beating Blitz Kreig from Chennai in the gold pool finals here on Monday.

There were 30 teams from across the country that participated in the tournament, making it the biggest ever in the history of the sport in the country.

The silver pool winners were Blitz Kreig from Chennai. They beat learning to Fly from Bangalore in the silver pool finals.

The participating teams were initially divided into groups, and the top eight winning teams battled it out for the title of Gold Pool Champions of the USHA Bangalore Ultimate Open 2015.

India's badminton queen Saina Nehwal was present at the finale event on Monday and felicitated the winners.

"It was a spectacular match to watch and it is impressive how USHA supports the flying disc game which is being loved by people all over. It is on the cusp of becoming a dominating sport in India and it promotes healthy living and improve the quality of life for women and youth through sports and skill development activities," Saina said.
