Kundapur: Whilhelmina of Green Valley gets British Council Global Teacher Award

Media Release

Kundapur, Jul 13: Whilhelmina Mathew, chief coordinator of Green Valley National School and PU College has been awarded British Council’s prestigious 'Global Teacher Accreditation Award 2015'.

She was originally shortlisted from around seven hundred applicants based on on her credentials and was assigned for an 'action research' which was subsequently carried out for the benefit of students. Her 'action research' was evaluated by the experts at Cambridge Education Foundation of Cambridge University London and she was awarded the prestigious 'Global Teacher Accreditation Award 2015'.

The Teacher Accreditation Conference and the award ceremony was held at Kempinski Ambience, Delhi on July 9. The Award was handed over by Cambridge University South Asia Manager Ruchira Gosh, director South Asia, Cambridge International Examinations.

It is a double joy for Green Valley School and PU College as GTA Award comes immediately after the School received the 'International School Award' on July 8 at Delhi during a high profile ceremony organized by the British Council.

The British Council recognizes the value of action research as a powerful tool that not only encourages teachers and educators to take charge of their own learning and professional development, but also inculcates a discipline of reflection and self-analysis. The efforts put in by Whilhelmina Mathew and Green Valley School to work in this direction has been thereby enriching the teaching–learning process as an example for educators all over the word.
