Uday Kumar P K from Paddayur village was arrested, and cheque leaves of different banks, vehicle documents, land records etc were seized from his possession. He too was booked under the above act.

During his questioning, Uday confessed to be conducting lending business without registering the same with any of the departments. The shop stands registered in the name of Shashikala, wife of Uday Kumar.

Town police inspector, Mahesh Prasad, sub-inspector, Abdul Khader, and other personnel were involved with the raid.

The superintendent of police has asked people to lodge complaints with the concerned police stations if they face any problems or harassment from private money lenders. He said that details of the house in Kallare will be checked and no one would be spared from the provisions of law even if he belongs to police department.

Majority of those who fall prey to these 'loan sharks', who dole out unsecured loans for interests upto 5% for Rs. 100 per day, ultimately fall into the trap as such high interest is impossible to pay unless the loan taker is indulged in some illegal business or has some under the table income!!

Once trapped, the deadly recovery agents can go to any extent to recover their loans with the exorbitant interest ultimately driving many to suicide!!

These totally 'illegal' loan sharks are dangerous people who should be eliminated from the system as many problems will vanish with their elimination!!

BTW, decades ago this business was mainly run by 'Pathans' who used to cater mainly to the then 'textile mill' workers in Mumbai, now this clan has vanished and taken over by other groups/gangs!! Jai Hind!!

If the house is owned by the police personal, then off course he might have checked on it and its not possible that he would rent the house without any clue. He might surely have a hand in glove and culprits thought using the police personal house would be a safe place.
