Mangalore, Sep 27: Congress is confident of winning MCC elections as its candidates in all the wards of Mangalore City Corporation are competent, said Ramanath Rai, district Congress president of Dakshina Kannada, expressing his confidence at a press conference here on Thursday September 27.

Congress activists and leaders have been working hard in preparation for the elections. Better and favorable results are expected, Rai remarked.

Emphasizing the strength of Congress party, Rai asserted that the differences of opinions among the coalition partners in the state government have made a worse impact on their parties. People are not in favour of voting BJP and JD(S), instead they will definitely vote in favour of Congress, considering the development works done by Congress party in the district.

Criticizing the promises and execution of promises by the state government, Rai affirmed that fixing deadlines and later either dropping or extending the deadlines have become a routine after the coalition government has assumed the power in the state.

The developmental works planned and carried out in the city must be attributed to Congress. Because the party has served its best to see to it that the city today possesses the best infrastructure. This has been proved, as Mangalore has bagged the awards thrice conferred by government of Karnataka for the best administration and equipping the city with better infrastructure, Rai declared.

Drawing the line between Congress and other parties, Rai said that everyone should vote in favour of Congress as it is the only party that will ensure the communal harmony and better society.

Santosh Shetty, UK Mohan, BA Moiddin Bava and Ivan D'Souza were present at the press conference.

Congress and communal harmony is a mockery! Since independence, the party has divided the population and ruled the country. In the name of'secularism'coined by the British, they have appeased the poor and illiterate in the name of religion. The recent affidavit fild by the UPA in SC on the Sethusamudram project and it's subsequent withdrawal fearing backlash by majority community and the silence of the PM and chairperson of UPA on it's partner's blasphemous outbursts against Hindu God exposes their true colours on communal harmony.

Only because the majority community is peace loving and tolerates any types of criticisms about their beliefs, practices and cultures, there has been no major incidents excepting aberrations here and there which are fallouts of provocations. Regarding devlopment works, the less said, the better. Regarding corruption, the Bofors ghost has risen once again. Congress has no morals to comment on any of the virtues they are talking about. Just a ride on the roads in the district and the so called national highways could decide who should rule us.
