Mangalore, Sep 29: An agreement has been signed between Mescom and the City Post office, by which the public can pay their electricity bills at Post office, informed the Senior Superintendent of Post Offices, city division M Jagdeesh Pai here, on Thursday September 27.

Pai was speaking at the Adalat organized at the Balmatta post office and added that electricity bills pertaining to  the Mescom subdivision will be accepted, at any of the computerized post offices. Moreover according to him a computerized receipt will be given for the payment made. However, it’s mandatory to pay the bills before the due date plus payment has to be made in cash, Pai declared.

Further he furnished the following information. Public must know the RR number and the division name which is mandatory in generating a computerized receipt.  This facility is available in 22 post offices including the city head office. The names of the listed post offices that a customer can pay the electricity bill is Kulshekar, Kankanady, Kodialbail, Hampanakatta, Balmatta, Milagres, Ashoknagar, Panambur, Bejai, Kinnigoli, Ullal, Bajpe, Mulky and other post offices. 

In the course of the hearing at the Adalat there were no complaints from the public, informed Jagdeesh Pai.
