Mangaluru: Bike-borne youth returning home attacked - two held

Mangaluru, Apr 6: Two persons were arrested for attacking a motor bike-borne youth on the night of Monday April 4. As per the complaint lodged in Kavoor police station here, Kiran D'Souza was returning home after conducting business in a fair Monday night, when two persons confronted him near Moodushedde Edurupadavu and beat him up.

The arrested accused have been identified as Mustafa and Diwakar. It is said that these two intercepted Kiran D'Siouza, who was returning home with a friend named Rajesh after selling ice cream at a fair organized at Kulshekar Kotimura, hurled choicest abuses using obscene words, and attacked him. Kiran D'Souza suffered injuries to his nose and above his left eye when Diwakar swung a sharp weapon towards him. Mustafa reportedly hit him in his waist region with a cudgel. A pre-existing enmity is said to be the reason behind this attack.

Hearing the shouts of Kiran, Chittaranjan and Prakash living in nearby houses admitted him into a private hospital. A case was registered in Kavoor police station.
