Mangalore: “Vigilance Awareness Week” to be Observed On Nov 12

Mangalore, Nov 11: “Vigilance Awareness Week” will be observed by New Mangalore Port Trust (NMPT) from Monday, November 12 informed a press release.

Lokayukta Justice N Santhosh Hegde will be inaugurating the programme at the port trust auditorium. NMPT chairman P Tamilvanan will be presiding over the function.

City railway development action committee convener P V Mohan will be undertaking a hunger strike in front of the deputy commissioner’s office on the same day November 12, in order to press for early commencement of Bangalore to Mangalore passenger train service.

The strike will be jointly inaugurated by Fr Muller Hospital administrator Fr Denis D’Sa, MU Mahatma Gandhi study centre chief prof P L Dharma and the Central Beary Sahitya Parishat president M B Abdul Rehman. 

On this occasion a signature campaign would also be launched, where around 10,000 signatures will be collected to add greater momentum to the said demand.
