Mangalore Nov 28: In view of the fact that gram panchayats in Someshwar near Ullal and Pudu in Bantwal taluk have completed their terms, elections have been ordered in these places.
The state election commissioner HQA Prabhakar Sharma informed at a press meet here that the commission will issue an election notification on December 5. The last date for filing of nomination is December 12. The nominations will be scrutinized on December 13 and the last date for withdrawing this nomination is December 15.
Further, according to Sharma if the election is required, then election will be held on December 23 between 7 am and 5 pm. The counting will be held on December 24 at 8 am. Those interested in filing nominations, can file the same with the election officer at the respective gram panchayat. For details interested persons are requested to contact City or Bantwal tahsildar.
