Mangalore, Nov 29: Our Lady of Remedies Church, Kirem near here celebrated its annual feast (vhodlem fest) on Wednesday November 28.
Thousands of parishioners and devotees of Our Lady participated in the thanksgiving mass. Fr Alfred Pinto, dean of Kinnigoli deanery celebrated the solemn mass. Fr Charles Noronha, parish priest of Kirem Church and Fr William Martis were the con-celebrants.
This church has got a historic importance. During the regime of Tippu Sultan, when Tippu invaded this Church, the Shetty family of Arasaraguttu protected this Church from Tippu’s invasion.
Just like every year this year also this Shetty family was honoured by Fr Alfred Pinto.
