Mangalore: NIT-K Team Selected for Saeidia Baja ’07 Event

Mangalore, Nov 29: National Institute of Karnataka (NIT-K), Suratkal has been short-listed for a national-level event Saeidia Baja ’07 which will be held at Natrax facility of Natrap, Pithampur, Madhya Pradesh.

The event is sponsored by Mahindra, Lombardini, Ford, Chevrolet, Apollo Tyres and ITW Chemin.

The main aim of the event is to test the design, fabrication, testing and marketing skills of the students.

NIT-K Suratkal is one of the two colleges from the state which have been selected to participate in this mega event.

The students of mechanical engineering designed the project under the leadership of Susheelchand, the team leader.

NIT-K team conceived the project under the supervision of Prof T P Ashok Babu, HoD Prof P Mohanan and Dr K V Gangadharan from the mechanical engineering department. 

Bosch, Bangalore sponsored the project and alumni association of NITK supported it.

The developed project will be displayed at NIT-K premises on Saturday December 1, at 3 pm. It will be unveiled by Prof Govardhan Mehta, chairman, NITK board of governors.
