Beltangady: Lorry Knocks Down Teenager to Death

Beltangady, Dec 1: A teenaged boy was knocked down to death by a speeding lorry near the bus stand here on Friday November 30 morning.

The deceased boy has been identified as Siraz (16), son of Abbas of Piligoodu near here.  He had come to the town on Friday.  He was crossing the road after alighting from the bus when a lorry speeding towards the Mangalore knocked him down.

Siraz was working in a footwear shop here and used to come to the town along with his elder brother.  On Friday too his brother was with him.  But Siraz tried to cross the road even when his brother refrained him from doing so.

The lorry owned by one Dayanand and driven by Vijay was on its way to Mangalore KSRTC depot carrying tyres.  The accident was such ghastly that Siraz was crushed completely and died on the spot. 

Beltangady police have registered a case in this regard.
