B'lore: Pope Imparts Apostolic Blessings to Faithful in State

Bangalore, Dec 1: Arch Bishop Bernard Moras recently had the privilege to meet Pope Benedict XVI on November 14 and 17.

During this meet Arch Bishop briefed the Pope about the Kristhostava -2007, which was recently held in the city. He was very pleased with the efforts put in by the church in Karnataka to make the message of Christ relevant both for Christians and non-Christians.

Arch Bishop also explained the Pope about the Karnataka region’s pastoral plan and the functioning of the 17 regional commissions.

The Pope was happy to know the pastoral and the spiritual developments taking place in the state, as well as the presence of a number of religious congregations and institutions in the region.

The Pope imparted his Apostolic Blessings to all the bishops, priests, the religious, the lay faithful and the people of the state Karnataka.

Arch Bishop also called on Ivan Cardinal Dias, prefect of the Sacred Congregation for the Evangelization of people who was also equally pleased to know about the functioning of the church in Karnataka and its latest developments. He also took note of the growth of the church in Karnataka in every field.
