Udupi, Dec 1: A week-long art festival by Lalit Kala Akademi Chennai Regional Centre in association with Artists’ Forum with the support of Manipal University will be organized at Manipal University campus near here from Sunday December 2 to Saturday December 8.
Well-known artists from different states will participate in the event and exhibit paintings and woodblock printing, a press release stated.
M V Kamath, chairman, Prasar Bharathi will inaugurate the said art festival at 11 am. T Ranga Pai, deputy registrar, Manipal University will felicitate the artists. B Damodar Acharya, executive director, CWC will preside over the inaugural function.
During these seven days of camp several programmes like slide shows, painting and woodblock printing, demonstration and talks on contemporary art will also be held, the release added.
On Wednesday December 5 there will be a Hindustani vocal recital by Rithesh Mishra and Rajneesh Mishra at 7 pm.
On all these seven days the camp will be open for the public between 10 am to 6 pm, the release informed.
The valedictory function will begin at 11 am on Saturday December 8.
