Udupi/Shirva, Dec 2: The flood lit 'Surya – Chandra' Kambla was held at Shirva, from Saturday, December 1 to Sunday, December 2, being inaugurated by Y Prafulla Shetty, managing trustee of Sri Vishveshwara temple, Yellur.   The former MLA, Lalaji R Mendon, district Kambla Organising committee, executive president, Gunapal Kadamba, Shantharam Shetty, APMC president, Antony D'Souza, were the chief guests present at the occasion.   Nadibettu Nithyanand Hegde, Kambla committee president, Kutty Shetty, Ravindra Shetty and others were present.


Over 80 pairs of buffaloes partaken from across Udupi and Dakshina Kannada district, at the muddy field race.   The prizes were awarded in six divisions.  Thousands of viewers gathered at the venue, to watch the annual traditional buffaloes race.
