Mangalore Jan 25: Roshni Nilaya, School of Social Work will host the 26th annual national conference on ‘Challenges for social work, education and practice, in the changing social scenario’ from Monday January 28 to Wednesday January 30, in association with Indian Society of Professional Social Work (ISPSW), informed Dr Jacinta D`Souza, principal of the educational institution.
Addressing media persons at a press meet, held at the institution, the principal said that three-day conference will be inaugurated by PP Shetty, senior general manager, Mangalore Works, BASF, Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza of Mangalore will be the guest of honour and Dr W Linda Christy, joint director of Collegiate Education will be the chief guest, present at the occasion.
The valedictory ceremony of the same will be held on Wednesday January 30, wherein valedictory address will be delivered by R Rajamani, managing director, Mangalore Refinery Petrochemicals Limited (MRPL) and AM Prasad, IGP, Western Range, Mangalore and Prof M Kaverappa, vice-chancellor, Mangalore University will be the chief guests, she added.
Replying to the queries of media persons, Rameela Shekhar, organizing secretary, briefed that the institution has already received 140 paper abstracts and 30 delegates are expected to attend the conference.
