Kundapur: 'Debt to Alma Mater Beyond Redemption' - Ajit Kumar

Kundapur, Feb 15: 'Since birth man is indebted to his parents in particular and to the society in general, but the debt to his alma mater is beyond redemption yet it could be paid back provided one learns to live an honorable and ideal life,' said former deputy mayor of Mangalore Ajith Kumar Hegde.

He was speaking during a programme held to distribute scholarships funded by several endowments established in Bhandarkar’s College here.

The programme was presided over by college principal Prof S Narayana Rao. M Chenna Poojary of Pre-university College was present on the occasion. Prof G S Hode and Prof Padmanabha Mallya read out the list of beneficiaries of scholarships while Yana Swami welcomed the gathering and delivered the vote of thanks.

Students and artistes of the college staged a drama 'Pandita Panduranga' directed by Avinasha on the occasion.
