Mangalore, Feb 21: News of a film shooting taking place spread like wild fire in surrounding areas near Kadri and within no time hordes of fans and onlookers gathered in the morning hours of Wednesday February 20 to gawk at the actors giving film shots here, ably guided by director Lekhana.

The movie crew surprisingly set its equipment in the most unlikely places of all - the Kadri police station premises. The film shooting taking place here was for a Kannada flick by the name 'Sihi Gaali', with its hero Murali donning the role of a police officer. Murali is the same actor who has displayed his talents as a hero in movies like 'Chanda Chakori' and 'Kanti.'

Kadri police station officials and staff looked on bemused whilst the hero essayed the role of a police officer giving orders to other actors playing the characters of other police personnel. It seemed so ironical that the role which these real life cops play day in and day out, was now on display in front of their own eyes. However for the actors and the audience these scenes have been depicted innumerable times on celluloid.

The lead actress in the movie is Shirina who is fairly a new entrant to the Kannada film industry. She too was  present on the sets, along with other co-artistes like Shashikala and Tulsi. Both the co-artistes play the character of mothers in the movie, with the father's part donned by actor Achuth Kumar. The comic touch in the movie will be given by actor Sharan. The supporting role in the movie is being done by actor Venkatesh.

According to film sources the producers of the film are P Umesh, Balakrishna, Anil and P Shyam, with the background music score being given by Shankar G R. The cameraman for the movie is Niranjan Babu A R, while the stunts will be performed by the artistes under the hawk eyes of the stunt director Kaurava Venkatesh.
