Mangalore, Feb 22: An experimental balloon belonging to the meteorological department, New Delhi was found on Thursday February 21 morning, at Kemmade, a small hamlet near here.

The balloon is a weather forecast device lanuched by the meteorological department. It was found hanging on a tree by the residents who were alarmed to find it intact with an electrical device along with the batteries. They feared that it was a mini-bomb which would explode if they try to fiddle with it.

However, a certain Namdeo Kamath managed to retrieve the apparatus and handed over the same to Mulky Police station.
