B'lore: Kallara Sante - Police Parade 14 Thieves in Open Market

Bangalore, Mar 8: Chitra Sante is over. It's time for Kallara Sante (market of thieves). On Friday noon, the police paraded 14 accused arrested in different cases, attracting curious onlookers and the media.

"Tale mele ettu..camera kade nodu,"(put your head up and look at the camera), the police told the accused.

First in line were four accused in 17 robbery cases. Shyam Sundar (23), Jayaram (25), Mohammed Kabeer and Shivakumar, residents of Bilekahalli, were arrested on Thursday.

They confessed to striking at houses in Subramanyapura, Kumaraswamy Layout, Madiwala, Mico Layout, JP Nagar, Hulimavu and Yelahanka. The police recovered a revolver and five rounds of bullets from them.

Then it was the turn of a duo - Karthik (24) and Gangadhar (23) - from Kumaraswamy Layout who allegedly murdered a man, whose body was found in a manhole on Tuesday.

The Chennammanakere Acchakattu police paraded five associates of rowdysheeter Parandhama. Manjunath (22), Chandhan Kumar (22), Navin Kumar K C (21), Ashok (23) and Anand (19) were arrested with lethal weapons.

Finally, the Sanjaynagar police, who on Thursday solved the abduction of two Sri Lankan students, paraded the five accused.

    It's nice that the police are parading these small time robbers. Similar Sante's need to be organised in front of The Vidhana Soudha for real big time Kallas involved in Land scams, Stamp scams , Excise Scams ,Liquor scams and several countless scams which would also involve many Big Politicians as well ! After all Karnataka is said to be on par with even the most corrupt States in the field of corruption.
