Mangalore, Mar 31: The SSLC annual examinations began all over the state amid tight precautionary measures against malpractice. About 8,44,843 students are appearing for the exams all over the state at 2,645 centres.

In Dakshina Kannada district 17,102 boys and 15,967 girls are answering the exams in 88 centre. A district-level committee has been assigned under the deputy commissioner, assistant Ccommisioner, ZP president and police to ensure that the examinations go on smoothly and to prevent malpractice. For every examination centre there will be a model officer who will modulate the exam.

All the spare question papers will be sealed within the first hour of the exam to avoid those papers being leaked. Photocopying centres around the centres will be closed half an hour prior to the exam and will stay closed for the duration of the exam.

Invigilators and non staff personnel will be issued identity cards. No mobiles will be allowed inside the exam hall. About 309 centres have been identified as sensitive and another 110 centres have been identified as highly-sensitive centres across the state. These centres will be monitored using video surveillance equipment.
