Mangalore, Jun 8 : Passengers bound for places on Udupi route were stranded for over three hours at Panambur because of the erratic movement and parking of ore laden trucks on Saturday, June 7.
The ore trucks which rushed to Panambur port from various places where they had been stationed, after the restriction on the movement of vehicles on NH 17 was lifted, created a chaotic situation there. Buses and other vehicles which started queuing up at Panambur at about 11 am due to the situation created by these trucks, could not move further till about 2.30 pm, when the Panambur police arrived on the spot and eased the situation. The police said, that traffic was choked due to the haphazard parking of the ore laden trucks on either side of the national highway at Panambur.
