Puttur, Jun 13 : Nine commuters travelling in a passenger jeep were injured, when the vehicle they were travelling in, was hit by  truck near Nellyadi Kolpe petrol bunk, on Thursday. The jeep was plying to Kokkada from Uppinangady.

The injured have been identified as Susheela(16), Prema(20), Sridhar(23), all from Addahole village, Subbanna(25), Ameena(30) and Joseph(26) from Patrame, and jeep driver Siddique. Details about two others are not available. Eye witness accounts stated that the truck, returning after unloading iron ore at Mangalore, was moving at tremendous speed when the accident occured.
