Udupi, Nov 7: Young Congress leader Steevan Colaco was appointed as the president of Udupi district committee of National Congress Brigade of India for his dedication and commitment to the party.

Ranjith Reddy was announced as Karnataka state president and M D Farook, as south India in-charge.

Melwyn D’Souza, president, Kaup Youth Congress and Vishwas Amin, president, Udupi Youth Congress appointed Steevan Colaco as the general secretary of Kaup constituency as recommended by Kaup MLA Vinay Kumar Sorake.

Steevan is an active party worker in Congress since 12 years. He was also the general secretary of Kaup block Congress minority committee under north zone and was a member of Udupi district Congress in minority committee for seven years.

He contested Udyava gram panchayat election.

He was elected twice as president of ICYM Udupi deanery. At present, he is the president of JCI Udyavara-Kutpady unit. Steevan is also engaged in social work and takes active part in church activities.
