Mangalore, Aug 11: Popular Front of India has informed, that it will be organizing a Freedom Parade in the city on August 15, in which about 1,000 cadres are expected to participate. The parade will be taken out from the Karavali Utsav ground in the city with the national flag at it's helm, and culminate with a public meeting at Bhagat Singh Nagar, Nehru Maidan. An independence day pledge will be administered to the cadres and the public there, and the meeting will end at 6.30 pm, they have said.
Popular Front of India, which strives for harmony and aims at conserving the independence, will be holding freedom parades at Madurai in Tamilnadu, Mangalore in Karnataka and Kochi and Wyanad in Kerala, its office bearers said. The meeting aims at creating awareness in the minds of the people against the evil designs of communal fascist powers which are working to creating a rift between the citizens, they said.
The front leaders said that so far, they have not been able to obtain police department permission for the parade, but hope to get the same soon. They said, they will go ahead with the programme on the independence day.
The forum has requested the epeople to wholeheartedly encourage its ideals and take part in the Freedom Parade programme. Popular Front of India vice chairman K M Shariff, general secretary E M Abdurrahman and Karnataka Forum for dignity vice president Iliyas Muhammed Thumbe were present at the press conference.
