Hertha Berlin sign Dutch young striker Dilrosun

Berlin, May 4 (IANS): Capital football club Hertha Berlin has completed its first summer transfer after signing striker Javairo Dilrosun from Manchester City's youth team.

The Bundesliga club announced on Thursday that they have strengthened their offence and sealed a future investment as talented striker Dilrosun has put pen to paper on a long-term deal, reports Xinhua news agency.

"We have observed him for a long time and have followed his development intensively. He has enjoyed excellent tactical and technical training at Ajax youth academy and at Manchester City," Hertha Berlin sporting director Michael Preetz said.

"Besides, he is fast and technically gifted. We are happy that we were able to sign him despite the interest of other well known clubs,"

The 19-year-old striker was a player at Ajax's youth academy from 2006 before he joined Manchester City in 2014. Hertha's new arrival made overall 39 appearances for several youth teams. Besides, the striker made 45 caps for the Dutch national youth teams.

"My first meeting with sporting director Michael Preetz and coach Pal Dardai was very positive. They made me feel good and convinced me to move to Berlin. One of the reasons for my transfer was that Hertha relies on young players. The club has many young talents, who come here to play," Dilrosun said.

Hertha Berlin currently sit at the 10th place in the standings. They encounter newly promoted Hannover and Leipzig for the last two rounds of the Bundesliga season.
