Boca Juniors win Argentine league title

Buenos Aires, May 10 (IANS): Boca Juniors secured their second consecutive Argentine first division football title on Wednesday with a 2-2 draw away to Gimnasia.

Pablo Perez opened the scoring for the visitors at El Bosque stadium in La Plata before Nicolas Colazo equalised just after the half-hour mark, reported Xinhua news agency.

Ramon Abila restored Boca's lead with a 57th-minute strike but Uruguayan Brahian Aleman again drew the hosts level with a long-range effort 10 minutes from time.

The result gave Boca an unassailable four-point lead over second-placed Godoy Cruz with one match remaining in the 28-team championship, securing the Buenos Aires club's 33rd top-flight title.

Guillermo Barros Schelotto's team have won 18, drawn 3 and lost just five of their Superliga Argentina matches this season.
