Moodbidri, Nov 15: Alva’s Vidhyarthisiri, students’ literary conference, which is organized prior to the Alva’s Nudisiri 2018, marked with grand start here at Vidyagiri, Moodbidri.
The charm of the programme was adorned by the presence of the inaugurator, Vinaya Prasad, most distinguished south-Indian actress. The chief guests were received onto the stage along with the grand procession comprising of the zealous beats of chenda vadhya and lively rhythm of the trombone. The lighting of the lamp was preceded by the inaugural session commenced by the chairman, Mohan Alva, addressing the guests and the audience about the importance and motive of organizing nudisiri.
The popular film and actress Vinaya Prasad addressed the gathering about the importance of the culture and language of Karnataka. Quoting D V G’s Mankuttimana kagga, she said it is better to emphasize and relish with our dainty possessions rather than lamenting over insufficiencies. She motivated students to overcome the discriminations concerning color, creed or language from becoming a barricade for an individual’s progress. Rather than being attracted to foreign practices and customs, she reminded the audience to always embrace the culture and traditions of their motherland. She concluded by requesting the gathering to nurture themselves at every stage to become a good human being.
The presidential address was enunciated by Sannidhi T Rai. The multifaceted young talent from Chinmaya Vidhyalaya, Kasargod reiterated the need for eradicating the prejudices existing in the minds of the people regarding their mother-tongue. Everyone should find they are equally responsible for conserving the mother earth as human survival is dependent on it.
The release of books written by the student of Alva’s institution also took place on this occasion. ‘Ambarada Kambani’, a collection of Kannada poems, by Chinmayi Rajesh and ‘Modagalu’,which is also collection of poems, by Atharva Hegde were unhitched by Vinaya Prasad and Dr Mohan Alva. It was followed by felicitating the chief guests Moorthy Deraje, Children’s Theatre costume designer, A K Rameshwara Kalburgi, senior child literature, and Sadhguna Aithal, child talent, and Vasanth Shetty, trainer of Sannidhya special school, for the various contributions they have made in different fields.
