Hyderabad, Mar 2 : Team India must be looking to bounce back after loss in the T-20 against Australia. Having convincingly won the ODI series in Australia, it must be embarrassing for the Indian team to get defeated on their home soil. Now the Indian team must be yearning to win this match and set the right tone for the series.
The Indian series against Australia is also important in terms of the World Cup. This is the last One-day series that the Indians will be playing and a win in this series will mean that they will be in the right frame of mind for the World Cup. India will also be testing a few players in this series to get the right balance for the World Cup.
The match today will be played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and Australians practiced on the ground before the start of the series. Australians seem to be in a very good batting form as they chased down 190 in the 2nd T-20 match. Glenn Maxwell is the player which Indians must contain, he has made scores of 56 and 113. Maxwell has a great ability to get runs on a very fast rate.Opener D'Arcy Short is another player whom the Indians should try to contain, he is in a good nick and should be one of the key performers from the Australian side. From the Indian perspective, they will be looking for a good start from the openers KL Rahul or Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma. Ambati Rayudu and Rishabh Pant are the other two key players in the middle order. These two players are also trying to cement their spots for the World Cup. Dhoni came under a lot of criticism for his slow innings in one of the T-20 matches, however he will be looking to continue what he doesbest and that is winning India matches by putting great performances.
Fast bowler Nathan Coulter-Nile did really well in the 1st game by getting 3 Indian wickets for just 26 runs. Pat Cummins and Jason Behrendorff are all set to give their best in the ODIs. Finch has also some good options in the spinning department with Nathan Lyon and Adam Zampa.
India bowling line up needs to get better, they were unable to defend 190 in the 2nd T-20 match. Inclusion of Kuldeep Yadav should provide the required strength to the Indian bowling line up.
