Mangalore: MLA's Daughter Assault Case - Another Accused Granted Bail

DHNS

Mangalore, Feb 22: JMFC II Court on Saturday granted bail to one more accused in the case of assault on Manjeshwara MLA C H Kunhambu's daughter.

Charanraj, the son of a former BJP corporator, is the one who has been granted bail.

He had been arrested on the charges of assaulting and humiliating Ms Shruthi, the MLA’s daughter, when she was travelling with a person of another community.

The court had ordered for an identification parade, but the complainant (Ms Shruthi) was absent for the procedure, and hence the court granted the accused a bail, informed the advocate arguing on behalf of the accused.

It may be recalled that five other persons who were arrested in Shruthi abduction case, were released on bail last week, after, an identification parade.

Why Ms. Shruthi? There was one more person who can identify all the culprits, Shruthi can be summoned later to confirm the identity. It is known fact that women in India are conservative, and hesitate to go for such identification parade. Therefore police protection must be promised to all such women, so that they could come forward to identify such culprits.

So according to you Ronald, POTA must be reintroduced and must be made applicable to Sangh Parivar. Come on the explanation of identification parade is there in the report and why do you expect the Police not adhere to their procedure?

Why they have to make arrests if they have to grant bail and set them free. Its better dont arrest rather than fooling public by arresting and then granting bail!
