Udupi, Feb 23: Science teacher of the high school section of Hebri government PU College in the district, Haleshappa H S (46) committed suicide on Sunday February 22 at his rented home in Hebri Badagudde, by hanging himself. He was a native of Honnali.
Before executing the suicide plan, Haleshappa had sent his wife and his only son to a temple festival nearby. He was alone in the house when end came. He had been in government service for 20 years, and had worked as the in-charge headmaster of the high school section of Hebri PU College for some time..
Reportedly, he was troubled by physical and mental problems of late. But he had good relationship with the students and local people. A case was registered by the Hebri police.
Ex vice-president of the zilla panchayat H Prasanna Ballal, college principal T Manjunath and others visited his home.
