Udupi: ICYM District Youth Convention Held

Udupi, Feb 25:
The district youth convention of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM), was held on Monday February 23, at Don Bosco Hall of the Mother of Sorrows church here.  The convention was organized by ICYM district committee.
 
Episcopal vicar Fr Baptist Menezes inaugurated the district ICYM youth convention in the morning on Monday. 
 
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Baptist Menezes called upon the youth to dream big and live the dreams, duly adhering to Christian values.  Discipline is essential for the youth to be able to scale new heights in life, he noted. 

Mangalore St Aloysius College Professor Alwyn D’Sa delivered a talk on ‘Innovative youth are the foundation of society’’. Steven Quadros spoke on the need for political awareness in the community, besides giving information on human rights.
 
Mother of Sorrows church parish priest Fr Mathew Vas delivered the valedictory address.
 
ICYM Mangalore diocesan president Steven Pinto, district director Fr Peter Pinto and animator Sr Suma were present on the occasion. 
 
ICYM district president Manoj D’Lima welcomed the gathering.  Treasurer Derrick Saldanha proposed vote of thanks.  Former district president Michael Rodrigues compered the programme. 
 
Around 120 ICYM district youth from 5 deaneries benefited from the youth convention.
