Mangalore, Feb 25: The festivities and religious rituals connected with the annual car festival of the local Kudteri Mahamaya Temple located in Car Street in the city will commence on February 26, with the hoisting of the temple flag.

The procession of the presiding deity on silver palanquin will take place on the 27th and 28th of this month. 'Mruga Bete' ritual will be performed on the first of March, on which day, the small chariot (Sanna Teru) will be pulled. The Brahmarathotsava will be held on March 2. The festivities will conclude on March 3 with 'Avabhrutotsava', a communiqué by the temple governing council said.
