Mangalore: Yakshagana Seminar in Kinnigoli on Mar 29

Mangalore, Feb 26: A seminar on Yakshagana will be held at Yugapurusha Auditorium in Kinnigoli on Sunday March 29. The seminar is being organized by Karnataka Yahshagana Academy.

A preliminary meeting about the programme was held at Kinnigoly under the presidentship of ex-state president of Kannada Saitya Parishat Harikrishna Punaroor.

Yakshagana Academy member Krishnamurty Kavattar, speaking on the occasion, said that the discussions at the seminar will mainly centre around body language, presentation, Yakshagana episodes and the fusion of Bharatnatyam, Kathakkali and  Bhootakola art forms.

The seminar will place additional focus on body language of artistes. Well known Yakshagana artistes representating both Tenku Tittu and Badagu Tittu, Bhagawats and Yakshagana scholars will be participating in the seminar, he explained. 

Bhuvanabhirama Udupa welcomed the gathering.

Shimantoor Narayan Shetty, member, Yashagana Academy member, Srinivas Bhat, president, Yaksha Lahari, Vishnumurty Kavattar, Sridhar D S, secretary, Yaksha Lahari, Sharat Shetty, president, Vijaya Kalavidaru, Narendra Kadekaru, artiste, Raghunat Kamat, amatuer Yakshagana Bhagawat and Vaman, journalist were present at the press conference.
