Mangalore: Woman Attempts to Kill Live-in Partner

Mangalore, Feb 27: on Thursday February 26, a woman living with a relative of her husband since the last three years after her marriage failed tried to kill her live-in partner with a sickle in their residence near Madoor School of Kotekar village near Ullal. Dileep, seriously injured in the incident, has been admitted into a hospital here.

Pavitra (25) from Somwarpet in Kodagu district and Dileep (32), a private bus driver, were living together after Pavitra's husband deserted her and married another woman. Pavtira was married eight years ago, and has two children from her marriage.

She was living with Dileep since the last three years but of late, reportedly, faced harassment from him. Frustrated and angered, she hit his neck with a sickle early morning on Thursday. Dileep, who was bleeding profusely, succeeded in running to a neighbouring house and alerting others. 

After the Ullal policemen arrested Pavtra and produced her in the court, she was remanded to judicial custody till March 13.
