Bangalore: CM Earns Opposition Ire for Raining Money on Math

Bangalore, Feb 27: The opposition in unison, derided the chief minister Yeddyurappa during budget discussions in the assembly session on Thursday February 26, for trying to justify his action in giving grants to Maths, by saying that "the government has been sanctioning grants for the development of Kaginele, Budh Vihar in Gulbarga and Haj pilgrimage too".

Siddaramaiah, Congress leader, criticized the government for making caste-wise allocations of grants by announcing grants for various Maths in the state. Intervening in the discussion, Yeddyurappa reminded Siddaramaiah that the latter had taken part in the programme organized to develop Kaginele in his company and seen for himself the development that has taken place there. "I believe that money spent on developing centres of the Lord will augur well for the state's future," he commented.

Congress members rose to their feet to oppose this statement. Opposition leader Mallikarjun Kharge urged the chief minister to build dams which are like modern temples. He said that the grants for irrigation have suffered because of the allocations made for Maths.

The chief minister argued that lot of development has taken place in drinking water, roads, electricity supply etc., because of the grants made to Budh Vihar in Gularga. He also gave the example that the union government and the state had together spent Rs 120 crore for the Sikh community festival in Bidar.

Siddaramaiah said that the places of great leaders like Kanakadasa were being developed not because of their affinity to the God but because they were social reformers.

BJP needs to fund maths as they are the one who can plant seeds at the grass-roots - politics ! An anlogy " family" may be required to understand this better. As a head of the family a father or mother needs to mind thier children's welfare else how can gernerations be continued. Ram Sene, BD, Shiv Sene, Sangha parivar, RSS so on...belong to same family and again Math is the place where these groups can come together and dicuss the agenda to formulate next group. Within another 5 year we will have in India many groups and tax payers and foreign investors will be spending lot their money on these groups to fund BJP and thier allied groups for thier upbringing. Our country already talibanized and if one wants to better living looks like leave India.

Yeddis limited knowledge and wisdom has made him to blindly believe in many lies and practices as taught by our wise ancestors. He belongs to old generation and he still lives in past glory, doesn't want to think rationally and doesn't want to learn new ways to tackle problems. He cannot figure out the motives behind keeping people hostages by prescribing them to follow certain rituals and making money in the name of solutions! If you see critically, people in olden times were kept in total ignorance and darkness, and hence they were innocent. It was a virtual prison - no access to outside world of goodness and exposure to other cultures. If you tell such people that they have serious dosha because of so and so star and so and so God or because they did something wrong, they would blindly believe it. Whatever wrong things happened to such people or wrong deeds done by these people, there was no forgiveness concept, instead it provided a rich fodder for the educated people in the society to mint MONEY from the innocents. And then you tell them how to get rid of Dosha by prescribing them to carry out certain practices which invariably involved lot of money to be paid to the high priests, and these innocent people have to pay most of their earnings to these people. It was exploitation of innocent people to the core. Hope people can analyse my views. Yeddi is a firm believer in miracles and magic. Whatever problems are there in the state, he attributes them as Dosha. And how Dosha comes? Because you are not pleasing GODS - in fact many of them! This is the simple argument he believes in. Now how to please GODS ? Very Simple. Offer them money! Whose money who is paying and what is the justification for such spending? I have serious reservations about the way he is handling the problems.
